President Thomas Saras mentioned that the Government promised in the last budget to allocate $50 million dollars for five years or 10 million dollars per year, for financial support to community publications, out of this amount 20 to 30% should be allocated to Ethnic Media.

• He encouraged all members to apply for funds under the Canada Periodical Fund and other such programs by Federal Government.

Educational conference/seminar will be held next year for 3 -4 days. A survey will be sent to the members to finalize the curriculum of the seminar. The seminar will most likely take place in Seneca College.

The 2018 Awards of NEPMCC.

Friday night, the 9th of November, the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) recognized members of the diverse communities of our great country.
The 2018 Award Ceremony was held at the Toronto City Hall, in which dignitaries such as Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada Andrew Scheer, Mayor of the City of Toronto John Tory, Jim Karygiannis, Russian Consul General Kirill S. Mikhaylow and many others were in attendance.

Educational conference will be held next year for 3 -4 days. A survey will be sent to the members to finalize the curriculum of the seminar.
Next meeting will be held on October 22. October 21 – October 29 there will be exhibition of multicultural arts exhibition at the Rotunda of the City Hall with the participation of more than 15 artists / painters from 10 different cultural communities.

This conference was organized in order to hear about the problems faced by the members in British Columbia and how the organization can help them, as well as to educate the members about the benefits of the digital platform undertaken by NEPMCC for all its members.

• The Annual Ethnic Press Festival will take place at CNE as all the other years and the booth of NEPMCC will be located in the International Pavilion near the main stage. Members were asked to bring 50 copies of their best publications for the press festival for the CNE.
